Blount Small Ship Adventures, formerly American Canadian Caribbean Line or ACCL, was founded by Luther Blount to "go where the big ships cannot." The company specializes in destination-oriented travel through the scenic waterways of North America, such as the historic Erie Canal, Great Lakes and Saint Lawrence Seaway. Blount's small ships -- holding no more than 84 passengers -- offer an informal atmosphere and personalized service similar to cruising on your own private yacht.
Blount's ships also feature a bow ramp, which allows disembarkation on river banks in remote locations, making even the most unique sites easily accessible. Shore excursions might include kayaking, museum visits and horse-drawn carriage rides. On select cruises historians and naturalists accompany guests onboard to provide local insight.
Back on board, you'll enjoy entertainment and guest lecturers. Fresh, local cuisine is served daily. Beer and wine is free with lunch and dinner. Soft drinks, baked goods and snacks are available all day. Although alcoholic beverages are not available for purchase on board, Blount has a "BYOB" bring your own beverage policy, where guests are invited to bring their own beer, wine or liquor onboard. Mixers, barware and refrigeration are available in the lounge.
